Consul General
 
Mr. Vanlalhuma assumed charge as Consul General in Istanbul in March 2009. Since joining the Indian Foreign Service in 1990, Mr. Vanlalhuma has held diplomatic assignments in the Indian Embassies in Madrid, Tashkent and Buenos Aires and in the Indian Consulate General in Sydney.
 
In the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi, he has worked in Americas Division and at the Foreign Service Institute. He has also headed various departments in the State Government of Mizoram in India including departments of Trade and Commerce, Tourism, and Art and Culture.
 
He is married, and has two daughters and two sons.
